The Canadian north, transplanted to Beijing.

118m²
Canada Goose arrives in Beijing
The 118m² Northward Concept Store at Beijing’s Shin Kong Place (SKP) was Canada Goose’s entry in the Chinese market, an immersive retail environment that abandons conventional store formats in favour of a sculptural expression of the brand’s Canadian north identity. The irregular footprint became the design concept, with an organic rock formation dropped into the available space, with faceted walls of trowelled concrete panels and black product niches carved from the mass like geological features. All-white display plinths rise from the matching floor as though emerging from snow.
The Wilderness brought indoors
Anchoring the interior is a ceiling installation by Shanghai-born artist Juju Wang, created in response to Benoy’s architectural language and drawing on the glacial lakes and frozen expanses of northern Canada. The result is an environment that places the customer inside the landscape the brand was built on. The Northward Concept Store is an award-winning retail interior.
Benoy Design Team
“The fragmented design aesthetic of the architecture is carried into the all-white product display plinths which appear to rise organically from the matching flooring. This effect creates a striking monolithic environment that appears to have been chiselled from a single block of stone and ice.”
