Bangalore’s largest Forum Mall, themed as a garden

Benoy led the masterplanning, exterior and interior design of Forum Mall, the retail and leisure heart of Prestige Falcon City, a regeneration of the historic Khoday Brewery site in south Bangalore developed by Prestige Estates with the Khoday Group. The mall opened in early 2023 as the largest in the Forum portfolio in the city, anchoring a 41-acre township alongside residential, civic and cultural uses, including the Srihari Khoday Centre for Performing Arts.

A design drawn from Bangalore’s Garden City identity

The design takes its cues from Bangalore’s reputation as India’s Garden City, with planting, structure, light and material used to bring a continuous landscape character into a covered retail environment. Forms across the public realm are derived from trees and dappled light, with timber canopies and natural finishes shaping a neutral but atmospheric interior. The space is calibrated to read as a single connected garden rather than a sequence of separate retail frontages set against a backdrop.

A rooftop food court as the social anchor

The rooftop food court is conceived as the building’s social heart, with timber dividing screens and canopies creating a range of seating configurations for couples, families and larger groups. The roof scape is shaded and planted, with food and beverage offers organised so that the space reads as much as a public garden as a dining floor. Programme across the wider mall includes a multi-screen cinema, an auditorium, and a full range of restaurants and cafes alongside the anchor retail offer.
