TOD commercial hub in Shanghai’s innovation district
Oasis Wisdom Valley Garden in the Zhaoxiang area of Caohejing, Qingpu District, is a mixed-use retail destination within Shanghai’s Greater Science and Technology Innovation District, developed through a joint venture between Yangtze River Delta Investment Group and China Merchants Shekou Group. The development sits directly above Jiasong Middle Road station on Shanghai Metro Line 17, integrating retail, dining, cultural, and leisure functions into a transit-oriented community serving the district’s growing population of high-tech industry professionals. Benoy provided interior design and architectural retail planning.

A nature-inspired retail experience
The design draws from natural landscapes, cascading architectural lines, multi-level terraces, and waterfront leisure spaces create a layered spatial sequence that moves between active commercial frontages and quieter outdoor social areas. The scheme’s core positioning around culinary, aesthetic, and lifestyle offerings reflects the consumption preferences of the innovation district’s professional demographic, with specialty dining, cultural and artistic programming, fitness facilities, and waterside leisure integrated across the 55,000m² commercial area.
Phased delivery
The 55,000m² commercial area is divided into two zones positioned either side of Jiasong Middle Road station, north and south. The northern zone opened in December 2024, with the southern zone, also designed by Benoy, targeted for opening in 2025.
