Where life and work coalesce
The first EAST-branded lifestyle hotel in mainland China, EAST Beijing, is a key component of the INDIGO mixed-use development in Jiangtai, Chaoyang District, a development Benoy also masterplanned and designed in full. Designed for the travelling professional, the hotel is positioned between Beijing’s 4th and 5th ring roads, a short distance from the 798 Art District.

A boutique third space
With 369 rooms and suites, EAST Beijing provides a considered retreat from the capital’s pace. The facilities are built around the idea of the third space, neither office nor home, but a place where the two can comfortably coexist. A large business zone, three restaurants, a live music bar, indoor swimming pool, sauna, spa and gym are organised to support both productive working and genuine recovery. Each amenity space is designed with natural light, timber details and a restrained material palette to create a consistently calm atmosphere throughout.
Creating an oasis in the city
The interior design draws directly from the hotel’s immediate context: the green surroundings of the INDIGO park and the industrial-creative character of the nearby 798 Art Zone. A minimal palette of natural materials with varied textures and carefully considered ambient lighting runs throughout the public spaces and guest rooms. Light and shadow are used as active design tools, expansive windows draw in views of the park and the city beyond, while nature-inspired textures and room dividers create intimate moments within larger spaces. The result is an environment that feels simultaneously open and sheltered: an oasis in the city that still belongs to it.
