A riverfront destination for Pudong, Shanghai
LCM Plaza occupies a prominent position in the Yangjing area of Pudong, on the bank of Yangjing Port. Developed jointly by Hongkong Land and CIFI Group, the complex marked Hongkong Land’s first development in Shanghai. The mixed-use scheme spans approximately 197,000 square metres and comprises a shopping centre, four Grade-A office towers, and an integrated public park.

Drawn from the river’s history
The design draws from the cultural and industrial heritage of the Yangjing waterfront. Five organising elements – streets, gardens, points, heritage and walls – run through the complex, expressed across a range of architectural scales and materials. The result is a scheme that reads as layered and of its location rather than generic to its type.

Bridges, sunken plazas and vertical planting bring the wider landscape into the retail environment, connecting interior and exterior while maintaining a coherent sense of place. A public park links the metro station, shopping mall and office buildings along a landscaped route stretching over 400m, transforming what could have been a transit corridor into a lush piece of the city.

A mixed-use quarter
The commercial programme sets retail and office uses alongside one another without subordinating either. The shopping centre addresses the park and the surrounding streets, while the four office towers sit within the masterplan as part of a unified whole, rather than isolated objects. The complex is directly served by public transport and well connected to the broader Pudong district.
