The five-star Shangri-La hotel anchoring Bahrain Marina’s hospitality offer
Bahrain Marina Shangri-La Hotel & Villas is the principal hospitality component of Bahrain Marina’s mixed-use waterfront development on Manama’s eastern coastline. Operated under the Shangri-La brand, the 90,500m² scheme is set across two towers of 16 and 25 storeys and waterside villas and anchors the wider development’s hospitality offer alongside its retail and entertainment district, members’ yacht club, and residential quarter. Benoy was commissioned by Bahrain Marina Development Company to deliver architecture, masterplanning and interior design.

The development brings together 250 hotel rooms, 150 one-to-three-bedroom suites, eight beach cabanas and 21 branded waterfront villas. Five restaurants, a rooftop lounge, two outdoor pools, a private beach, a health club and a children’s club support hotel guests and Bahrain Marina’s wider resident and visitor population. The mix is calibrated for short-stay visitors, longer-stay suite guests and the villas’ branded-residence audience within a single integrated offer.
Hospitality at the heart of a regeneration
The Shangri-La sits within a regeneration of one of Manama’s most strategically positioned but historically underdeveloped stretches of coastline. The site, located between the National Museum and Juffair, previously housed the Marina Club and an earlier yacht club. The new hotel and its associated villas extend the city’s waterfront eastward, drawing the energy of Manama’s cultural and civic edge southward along the coast. As the five-star hospitality anchor of Bahrain Marina, the Shangri-La supports the Kingdom’s growing tourism and hospitality sector at its newest waterfront destination.
