Uniting rail, retail, culture and landscape at Xinwuri station
Xinwuri Station is the most connected point in central Taiwan, served by high-speed rail, conventional rail and the MRT, with road access placing the Greater Central Taiwan region within thirty minutes. The station area sat undeveloped for 15 years after the HSR station opened. The Taichung D-One mixed-use scheme is designed to serve the busy destination.

Drawn from the landscape
Taichung sits at the edge of the mountains, a city where the built environment and natural topography are in constant conversation. That relationship is the organising idea for the design. The development is structured around five landscape zones, mountain, forest, water, cloud and valley, each with its own character, together creating an environment that feels rooted in central Taiwan rather than transplanted onto it.
A destination built around movement
At the core of the 473,208 square metre complex will be a department store and shopping mall alongside a multiplex cinema, international exhibition venue, conference centre, Grade-A offices and a hotel. The ambition is a destination that justifies a journey, while also serving the daily flows of a major transit interchange. Di Yi Da anticipates the development will generate employment for 16,000 people and establish Xinwuri as a new centre of gravity for the region. The project broke ground in June 2024.
